Note from Artist: Finding Focus in the Fog "Drifting, foggy, destination unknown - these feelings have marked the last six months, maybe the last twelve, as 2020 became 2021 and life continued without notable mile markers. Yet in the fog, in the drifting, there has still been peace and a wind at my back, I must go forward, even if progress is unclear. These ideas and feelings inspired the theme of this new collection of nautical watercolor paintings. When I set out to create the series, the same feelings persisted, and though I began headed in one direction (misty tranquility), I ended the series at a completely different destination (see Triumph!). As someone who seeks to live for Jesus Christ, I am influenced by Him in everything, even how I paint and what I paint. I wanted to create a series of quiet boats, but I quickly realized as I worked that there were definite messages to be delivered to viewers of the work. So if you sense that you are drifting, lost in the fog, I want you to hear that in Christ, you will find purpose, see startling triumphs, and finally, safe harbor."  -Em
